In today\u2019s update, we\u2019ll highlight a few of the bright spots from this week\u2019s data, including marketplace volume, growth in certain work types, network effects, and quality ratings.<\/span><\/p>\n<a name=\"overall-marketplace-volume-holds-steady\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"overall-marketplace-volume-holds-steady\"><b>Overall marketplace volume holds steady<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the fifth consecutive week, we saw sustained improvement with steady work order volume across the marketplace between week 19 (the week of May 4) and week 20 (the week of May 11). The past several weeks of data continue to show significant volume increases from what we believe was the low point of the market in week 15 (the week of April 4).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1172-03_MKG_field-intelligence-data-viz_r02v01-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13939 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1172-03_MKG_field-intelligence-data-viz_r02v01-1.png?_t=1589995844\" alt=\"Published and routing year-over-year volume growth (U.S.)\" width=\"740\" height=\"415\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have also seen a rise in work order volume in Canada since Week 15, but the rebound hasn&#8217;t been as dramatic. We hypothesize this may be due to the country\u2019s &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/6937528\/coronavirus-canada-us-reopening-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">go-slow approach<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<a name=\"audio-visual-cctv-alarm-and-telecom-projects-on-the-rise\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"audio-visual-cctv-alarm-and-telecom-projects-on-the-rise\"><b>Audio-visual, CCTV\/alarm, and telecom projects on the rise<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>While some types of work have been slower to recover, others are actually outpacing their 2019 levels. These include audio-visual, CCTV\/alarm systems, and telecom\/VOIP.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a glimpse at the top 10 types of work completed using the Field Nation platform and their year-over-year growth rates.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Point of sale (POS): -2%<\/li>\n<li>Networking: -4%<\/li>\n<li>Desktop\/Laptop: 5%<\/li>\n<li>Telecom\/VOIP: 44%<\/li>\n<li>Low voltage cabling: -20%<\/li>\n<li>Other: -22%<\/li>\n<li>Audio-visual: 86%<\/li>\n<li>CCTV\/Alarm systems: 101%<\/li>\n<li>Printer: -50%<\/li>\n<li>General tasks: 0%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a name=\"active-companies-technicians-and-connections-demonstrate-positive-network-effects\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"active-companies-technicians-and-connections-demonstrate-positive-network-effects\"><b>Active companies, technicians, and connections demonstrate positive network effects<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To better understand what\u2019s driving marketplace volume, let\u2019s take a closer look at the types of activity we\u2019ve seen over the past several weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weekly active companies increased by 8.6 percent since the market low in week 15. In other words, the number of companies posting work on the platform is steadily increasing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weekly active technicians increased by 3.45 percent since the market low in week 15. Therefore, the number of technicians using the platform to find work is also rising.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most importantly, weekly active connections increased by 19 percent from week 15 to week 20 as the Field Nation marketplace continues to be a valuable resource for connecting companies and technicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1172-03_MKG_field-intelligence-data-viz_r02v012.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13940 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1172-03_MKG_field-intelligence-data-viz_r02v012.png?_t=1589996148\" alt=\"Weekly active connection (2020 vs 2019)\" width=\"740\" height=\"415\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<a name=\"quality-metrics-reflect-the-resiliency-of-field-service-workers\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"quality-metrics-reflect-the-resiliency-of-field-service-workers\"><b>Quality metrics reflect the resiliency of field service workers<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite more technicians and companies joining the platform, we have not seen an increase in quality issues as measured by our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.fieldnation.com\/s\/article\/Guide-to-the-Provider-Quality-Assurance-Policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">provider quality assurance policy<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PQAP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New technicians are completing work without sacrificing quality. While this could partially be attributed to lower project volumes, we believe it also means that workers are bringing their <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A-game<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the job.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Combined, our Field Intelligence metrics this week show steady improvement and a likely recovery on the horizon.
